Get Lost, Take Pictures, Make Moments.
Moment came out with lenses for the iphone awhile back and I was enamored by them from day one. The only downside was that, in order to use them, you needed to affix an adhesive plate to your phone. If you use a case, this is no big deal, but if you use your iphone bare, the thought of sticking adhesive to it is.. Tough to swallow. Enter the moment case.
In January, the Moment team launched a Kickstarter for their newest product: a case for the iPhone that has a built-in mount for Moment lenses, as well as bluetooth connectivity so you can use a pseudo-shutter button and take photos more easily.
After a short wait, I got a shipment notice and was pleased to see that the Moment Case was already delivered and waiting for me.
Walnut Wood Grip.
As soon as I saw the Kickstarter, I knew that I wanted to get in early and support this team. I’ve really admired their craft and attention to detail and that deserves support whenever possible.
I backed the custom wood back with both lenses, which also came with a process book. (I’m a sucker for behind-the-scenes looks into building products.)

Truth be told, I’m a little disappointed in the walnut back for the case. It looks & feels cheap and even flimsy–I honestly think it could be replaced with a wood pattern sticker and I wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.
On top of that, the actual engraving quality is poor–the lines are thin and not very clean. I’ll get over it, of course, but for a company that focuses on the details, this was surprising.
Standard vs Wide Angle
